Cuddle by the Fire

Nate and I began our relationship during one of many cold winters in Northern China. Our date nights were spent at hot pot restaurants, where the warmth of the meal was a welcome relief. One particularly cold evening, with the temperature at a bitter -20 degrees, we decided to stay in.

The heating in my apartment, though expected to be sufficient, was far from it. As we ate our quickly cooling meal, Nate, said, “Someday, I want a home with a fireplace.” I agreed wholeheartedly, and we made a promise that if we ever bought a home in America, it would surely have one.

Eight years later, as we prepared to launch Andante Home in China, the memory of that winter night lingered. We talked of creating a fire-inspired fragrance, not just one that smelled of smoke, but one that captured the warmth of cuddling by a real fire. That was when Nate created *Cuddle by the Fire* by blending together cypress and fir, bringing the woodsy scent of burning logs, with clove and orange adding a warming touch that only a fire can offer.
