Our Andante Home ‘Free State of Mind’ candle captures the spirit of Kansas, honoring its history as a free state while evoking the calm, natural beauty of the landscape.

The fresh, bright notes of sunflower and verbena bring a sense of openness and clarity, while ozone adds a crisp, airy freshness. Vetiver grounds the fragrance with earthy depth, and amber provides a warm, soothing finish.

Together, these notes liberate your mind from the chaos of the world, guiding you gently to the serene sunflower fields of Kansas.

Behind the Scent

When we first started Andante Home in Asia, I carried with me a quiet longing, one I did not often speak of, but which lived in the corners of my heart. I wished to create a fragrance that would capture the very soul of my home, Kansas. You might think that, after years spent so far away, homesickness would fade, but it does not. It lingers, like the scent of something familiar carried on the wind. And whenever I saw a friend’s photograph of the sunflower fields near Lawrence, shared on social media, the longing would return, soft but certain, as if the golden blooms themselves were calling me back.

My husband, Nate, however, did not share in my nostalgia, for he had yet to witness those endless fields with his own eyes. He believed that no description, however lovingly recounted, could compare to the experience of standing among them. And so, when fate led us back to Kansas in 2024, he finally beheld their brilliance. In that moment, he understood.

Thus moved, we set to work without delay, determined to capture in fragrance what words so often fail to convey, the feeling of standing amidst those golden fields, beneath an endless sky, with the crisp Kansas air whispering all around.

Candle Care

  • Trim the wick to 1/4", before lighting and place on level surfaces.
  • Keep away from drafts & flammable objects.
  • Make sure the candle pools entirely before snuffing it out.
  • Keep your candles within view and out of reach of children and pets.
  • When burning, be sure there is at least 1/4" of wax left in the bottom of your jar to avoid shattering.
  • Keep your candle lit no longer than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
  • Don't blow out the candle. Use a snuffer instead.
