Scarborough Fair

One of the many simple joys Nate and I share in the making of our Andante Home creations is the presence of music. Indeed, we do not bear the name "Andante" without reason, for melody and rhythm accompany our every endeavor. It was on one such evening, as we toiled long into the night pouring candles, that our usual lively tunes gave way to songs of the folk and Renaissance traditions.
Among them was "Scarborough Fair", a tune of old, passed down through the ages and brought to new life by a famous pair of musicians. For those unfamiliar, its verses weave a tale of longing and love, and within its lyrics, there is a refrain that lingers in the mind: "Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme". No sooner had the words drifted through the air, Nate and I paused, our hands stilled in unison. It was as if we shared a single thought, this was a fragrance waiting to be born.
With newfound purpose, we set to work, blending the scents of those very herbs, but something felt amiss. It was only after further study that we stumbled upon a most fitting addition, thistle, a flower of the Renaissance, known to symbolize fidelity. At last, the blend was whole, the herbal notes entwining with the spicy floral essence in perfect harmony. And so, from a simple song on a quiet night, a new fragrance was created, one steeped in history and meaning.
